Let’s Work Together to Train your Future Workforce
South Devon College is excited to inform you of a collaborative project called the Strategic Development Fund (SDF) that aims to work in partnership with employers to help train their future workforce.
We are offering local employers the opportunity to put staff forward for a fully funded level 3 qualification in Education and Training in order to give them the skills and knowledge to share their specialist expertise with your future workforce.
On completion of training, the College aspires to work with industry experts as associate lecturers to assist us in designing and delivering curriculum that exactly matches the training needs of your organisation.
The Department of Education’s (DfE) funding available through the SDF will support South Devon College to better meet your needs and foster local innovation and economic growth.
Project Purpose
Here at South Devon College, we want you to join us in creating a future of skilled professionals for your industry. With our expertise and resources, we can provide the highest quality, industry-relevant education. However, to ensure our curriculum is up-to-date and effective as possible, we need the insight and experience of real-world employers. That’s where our employer partnerships come in.
The project sets out to increase the number of industry professionals beginning teaching vocational skills by developing and offering short training programmes. By offering Continued Professional Development (CPD), there is ample opportunity to bring together employers, including from SME businesses, and the local FE providers to share best practices.
By collaborating with us to then design and deliver specialised training, local businesses can ensure a steady stream of talented individuals with the relevant skills for their workforce as soon as they finish their studies.
What does the project include?
Training:
- Full training for your staff on the Level 3 Award in Education and Training
- 5 days of training (2.5 hrs face to face taught delivery and 2.5 hrs self-study), including assessed taught delivery at South Devon College. Taught sessions will be on Monday morning starting on Monday 27th February 2023 09:30 – 12:00 and finish on Monday 27th March 2023
- 5 days workplace shadowing with a tutor at South Devon College
- £250 per day paid to you, per employee that you nominate for the training
- Access to a range of free training for your workforce
Outcomes:
South Devon College would like to continue to work in partnership with employers upon completion of the project delivery. This partnership would encompass a collaboration between those that have undertaken the training and delivery of curriculum at South Devon College.
