Child in Need Workforce Training for community care and early intervention workers
South Devon College has partnered with local authority to deliver a training package for their community care workers and early intervention workers.
This is in response to the updated Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 which states that Child in Need assessments/direct work can now be completed by an allocated Lead Professional whose work is overseen by a social worker.
The Child in Need Workforce Training Level 4 short course has been designed in collaboration with employers and is aimed at supporting local authorities to upskill their workforce with the appropriate knowledge and skills required whilst improving experiences and outcomes for children.
Plan
The training consists of four modules (five credits each), with one assessment per module.
The course will follow a hybrid model of delivery – both classroom-based and online via Teams, allowing students to access remotely. Live lectures will be held on Wednesdays from 9-11:30am.
The course starts on 4th September 2024 and runs until 18th June 2025.
