Take a look at our courses and see what areas of study interest you most. You can make an application here.
2. Welcome Meeting
After your application, you will have the chance to meet with a course tutor from your chosen subject to discuss the course in more detail. This is a good chance to ask any questions you may have, and make sure the course is right for you.
3. My Night
This is a taster evening that helps you get to know your new classmates. It’s a fun event that takes place in the Spring Term, and gives you another chance to explore the College and settle into student life.
4. My Start
This is your final opportunity to see what studying at South Devon College is all about. It’s another taster day that helps you get to grips with your studies and prepare you for when you start in September.
5. Enrolment
Your enrolment is September gives you an official place on your course, so you can get started and make your future a reality!

FAQs – Applications during College closure period

Are you still taking applications for September 2020?   Yes, we are taking applications for September 2020 and will continue to do so through our website and online application form. We are picking up all applications and continuing to provide advice on next steps to ensure you are informed throughout.  
How will I hear about my application?

 

We are pleased to inform you that you will receive a phone call from a member of our industry expert curriculum teams, to talk you through the provision for you chosen subject area. These calls are taking place every week, so you wont have to wait long. You will have the chance to visit our outstanding facilities once we are open as normal.   
Is there a deadline for applying? 
 
We encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible to give you the chance to make the most informed decision about your future. Once you have applied, we can keep you up to date with all important information ready for you to start in September.  
I’m unsure what to apply for?  

 

Don’t worry, if you are unsure or would like to explore applications to multiple courses. You can apply for two courses and make your decision later having spoken to the course teams for each. You can also contact our qualified Careers Advice & Guidance Team via enqu[email protected] who can arrange a onetoone phone appointment with you.  
 
What if I am unable to sit my GCSE exams? 

 

We will continue to monitor government advice and will be keeping up to date with their latest guidance and will inform you as we get more information. We will work with you to place you on the most appropriate course for your ability and career goals.  
Can I come in to look around?Will there be any events this year?  Unfortunately, we have currently had to close our fantastic facilities while teaching continues online. We realise how important it is for you to see your new place of study, we hope to provide more information on how you can visit our facilities when we are able to reopen our doors to you. We will update all applicants via email and on our website.  
Can I still get funding advice?  Our Helpzone team are still able to advise on all funding options including our fantastic bursary offer. We are still planning to release our bursary application form during May, this will be sent to all applicants.
How will I get to College?  We are continuing to work closely with Stagecoach on our exclusive Bus Pass offer and transport routes to the College for September 2020. We are still planning to release our transport application form during May, we will send this to all applicants.  
When will I enrol?  We still plan to enrol all students at the end of the summer holidays. We will contact you over the summer with guidance on how to enrol following any updated government advice at the time.  
When will I receive my timetable?  We always provide all students with their timetable electronically, once you have enrolled, you will be able to get your timetable from your tutor during your enrolment.  
I’ve applied to study a degree-level course. Can I still apply for my HE loan and maintenance grant?  Yes. You can apply/continue your application at www.gov.uk/student-finance
