We offer a wide range of Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) courses available for Plumbers. Initial assessments are for those that don’t currently hold these qualifications, Re-assessments for those renewing their current qualifications ( every 5 years).
The courses listed below will help to ensure you are competent, safe, and qualified gas engineer.
Unvented Hot Water – Initial £307
Unvented Hot Water – Re-Assessment £210
Hot Water Systems and Safety (HWSS) training course provides operatives with a certificate of competence in accordance with G3 Building Regulations.
This course replaces the unvented hot water training course and covers all hot water systems.
Training and assessment takes place over one day with candidates doing slightly different assessments depending on whether they require initial assessment or re-assessment.
The HWSS course is recognised by Competent Person Schemes (CPS) approved to offer self-certification under Approved Document G.
Upon successful course completion, candidates will be issued with a HWSS certificate of competence from LCL Awards.
The cost of the course includes training, assessment, the certification fee.
Water Regulations £312
The LCL Awards Water Regulations Certificate covers the Water Regulations (1999) and is a necessary requirement for qualified plumbers (minimum NVQ Level 2) looking to join their local water authorities Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme. It is also a pre-requisite for several renewable technology qualifications and may also be undertaken by learners new to the industry undertaking a plumbing qualification or Gas Managed Learning Program. The course is structured to include both self-study and centre based guided learning.
Diploma L3 Gas Engineering (2 evening) £3,344
This evening course is for those who are currently working or looking at working within the Gas Sector.
The course allows you to develop the knowledge and practise the skills required for employment in the gas engineering industry. You will develop and practise the skills required for employment in gas engineering such as relevant gas safety principles, installing and maintaining appliances such as gas boilers, water heaters and unvented hot water cylinders.
Gas Refresher Training Day £212
A refresher course designed to assist previously trained operatives to update their existing domestic natural gas knowledge and understanding to meet the core ACS assessment requirements or to provide the required training to add scope to their qualifications, note from Monday 1st September 2022, you must have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 12 months to add additional appliances to your initial registration and provide evidence of training either onsite or from a training provider.
Core Gas Assessment £525
Membership of the Gas Safe register is a legal requirement for any installer wishing to carry out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey.
To register as a domestic gas installer, you must hold Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) plus certification for the appliances you intend to work on.

CENWAT is designed to assess the competence of a gas engineer to install, exchange, commission, disconnect, service, carry out repair and attend to breakdown of all types of gas central heating boilers and water heaters.

The course covers installation, maintenance, breakdown repair and the disconnection of gas fires and wall heaters.
