South Devon College is an ambitious and successful Further Education College. The College is currently rated OFSTED Good, TEF Gold and Investors in People Platinum. Its wide-ranging provision includes a High School for 14-16 year-olds, a Sixth Form for 16-18 year olds, Apprenticeship Programmes, Adult Learning and a University Centre with Foundation Degree Awarding Powers.
As a member of the Governing Body you will use your experience and expertise to help inform the strategic direction of the College, and ensure that all of its activities are conducted to the highest possible standard thereby ensuring a positive impact for all of its learners. You will be a ‘critical friend’ to the Leadership Team and a pro-active ambassador for the College.
We welcome expressions of interest from all sections of our community. During 2022/23 we are particularly keen to attract people who have a strong professional background and experience in any of the following areas:
- Data Management/Analytics
- Sustainability, Energy and Carbon Management
- Commercial or Business Development, especially successful local entrepreneurs
- Property and Estates
- Safeguarding

The College’s Search & Governance Committee considers all applications, and applicants are normally invited to visit the College as part of the appointment process. The next round of interviews is scheduled to take place from 3pm on Thursday 18 May 2023. If you wish to be considered for this round of interviews please send your expression of interest to the Head of Governance by Friday 28th April 2023.
