Assessment Days

All applicants are required to complete a cognitive abilities assessment on this day. The result of the assessment will determine a place at South Devon High School in the event of over subscription. Pupils are required to exceed the minimum threshold score.

Taster Days

All pupils wishing to attend South Devon High School will be required to attend a taster day. This is an opportunity to experience South Devon High School, including the pupils’ chosen technical qualifications. The day will include an introduction to the course team, curriculum based activities and refreshments.

Meeting with the Head/Deputy Head of School

Wednesdays between 4pm and 6pm 

Applicants are encouraged to meet Matt Burrows, Head of South Devon High School, or James McCauley, Deputy Head of South Devon High School, to discuss the curriculum and how this fits with their own aspirations. Applicants will be encouraged to discuss their interest in the chosen technical qualifications, for example discussing career goals, current studies, hobbies, and applicants should show an enthusiasm for study and aspiration to achieve higher grades. Matt will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Each appointment lasts approximately 20 minutes.
