Bursary and Transport applications for courses starting from September 2019 can be made from May 2019. Applications made before this time may not be accepted. We will inform all applicants when the application portal is open for the academic year 2019/2020.
Torbay Council have been working with South Devon College and Stagecoach to improve accessibility to our fantastic Paignton Campus, which includes our brand new state of the art Hi Tech & Digital Centre opening in September 2019.
As part of this ongoing commitment, work will commence on Monday 14th January 2019 to construct a new bus layby directly outside the College in front of the new Hi Tech & Digital Centre. This will provide safe access for up to four double decker buses at any one time, and improve the flow of traffic on Long Road for those using their own vehicles.
Depending on initial exploratory work being successful, the layby will take no longer than 16 weeks to complete. During this time a section of Long Road outside the College will become a traffic light controlled single lane. To minimise disruption a temporary bus stop will be introduced for all buses that serve the College indicated on the map above. There will be pedestrian access from this drop off point to the Vantage Point site.
We would encourage all road users during this time to ensure they adjust their travel time accordingly and take extra care when picking up or dropping off.
If your earned household income is under £21,000, you may be eligible for the Bursary Fund and for travel support. If your earned household income is between £21,000 and £25,000 then you may now also be eligible for travel support
