This qualification is designed for students seeking the knowledge and understanding needed to successfully lead a team. The course focuses on the principles of team leadership within a business environment.
This course is ideal for students who want to development their knowledge of the principles of team leading and their understanding of business and supporting communication with a range of stakeholders.
How you will Learn and be Assessed:
This course is completed via distance learning.
There are no live lessons to attend; you will learn independently on our online platform but with the support of a personal tutor, so you can learn at times best for you, while still completing work within the required deadlines.
This is a 12-week course with 7 assessments; therefore, you will have an assessment due every 12 days.
You can access the assessment at any point leading up to your deadline, it is in the form of written question and answer format, and not timed – meaning you can complete the assessment in small chunks.
You should have a genuine interest in this subject
You will require good literacy and IT skills
You will require a reliable internet connection and use of a device - A smartphone is not always compatible

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, you will complete the following units:
Unit 1: Principles of Team Leading
This unit provides students with an understanding of leadership styles in organisations. Students will develop knowledge of team dynamics and the techniques used to manage the work of teams. Students will also gain an appreciation of the impact of change management and how a motivated team affects an organisation.
Unit 2: Understand Business
This unit equips students with an understanding of organisational structures and the business environment. Students will also gain knowledge of business reporting within an organisation.
Unit 3: Understand how to communicate work-related information
This unit equips students with an understanding of the principles and techniques of work-related communication both verbally and in writing. Students will also develop the knowledge of a range of documents required for different types of meetings in a business environment
Unit 6: Understand how to deliver customer service and resolve problems
This unit equips students with an understanding of customer service delivery and the relationship between customer service and brand. Students will be able to identify the techniques used to resolve customer service problems.
Unit 8: Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues
This unit provides students with an understanding of the principles of effective team working. Students will be able to identify what is required to develop working relationships with other teams and departments.
Unit 9: Understand health and safety procedures in the workplace
This unit aims to provide students with an understanding of individual health and safety responsibilities and laws affecting the workplace.
Unit 12: Introduction to mentoring
This unit aims to provide students with an understanding of effective mentoring. Learners will explore the role and benefits of mentoring and the use of tools and skills to support the mentoring process.
Unit 13: Understand Personal Development
This unit aims to give students an understanding of the role of a team leader and how to plan for personal development.
