TEF Gold – In 2023, South Devon University Centre has been re-accredited with the highest rating of ‘Gold’ under the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), a system for recognising excellent teaching and learning in higher education.
City & Guilds EPA Excellence Award – In 2022, we were recognised for delivering high quality end-point assessments for apprenticeships.

AAC Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Apprenticeships – We were nationally recognised for this award at the FE Week AAC Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Award – The Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce awarded us Workplace Wellbeing Award in 2020.
Devon Business Awards – South Devon College won the ‘Planet Saver’ award from Devon Chamber of Commerce, as part of the annual 2025 Devon Business Awards.The ‘Planet Saver’ award, in partnership with GA Solicitors, recognises organisations with sustainability at the heart of their business. According to the Chamber “the College is fully committed to sustainable best practice and making the world a better and safer place”
Following the success of winning the prestigious Green Gown Award for UK Sustainability Institution of the Year in 2024, South Devon College has now been selected as a finalist for International Sustainability Institution of the Year 2025!The College is up against five universities from Italy, Morocco, Malaysia and Australia in the category finals.
The Green Gown Awards are delivered by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) and recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being taken by universities and colleges across the world.
TES Employer Engagement Award – South Devon College has a long and successful track record of developing curricula in partnership with local employers. In South Devon and Torbay, there is a growing hi-tech sector, with a cluster of businesses employing more than 1,000 people. South Devon College’s hi-tech and digital department is seen as a hub of innovation, supporting businesses with a host of new ideas and developments.
Investor in Careers accreditation – The College received the accreditation as a result of their exemplary careers education, information, advice and guidance.
