This course is designed to provide you with an advanced skillset and comprehensive knowledge needed to thrive in the automotive industry. You will study vehicle maintenance and repair in greater detail, focusing on complex systems across a range of vehicles. Developing your diagnostic and fault-finding abilities, you’ll be prepared to tackle challenges in a modern vehicle maintenance and repair workshop.
The course includes training on the use of industry-standard specialist tools and equipment to support the diagnosis, testing, and repair of sophisticated vehicle systems.
You will work towards completing the IMI Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles qualification.
Completion of a Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Qualification. English and Mathematics GCSE at a minimum of grade 4 (or equivalent).
Diagnosis and rectification of engine and component faults
Diagnosis and rectification of transmission and component faults
Diagnosis and rectification of chassis system faults
Diagnosis and rectification of auxiliary equipment electrical faults
Development of English and Mathematics knowledge (subject specific)
