Creating a Business Start-Up Certificate (Online)
The Creating a Business Start-Up Certificate is designed for students seeking the skills and knowledge needed to develop a business start-up. It will give students an understanding of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up, knowledge of the first steps in creating a business start-up, including the marketing, legal and financial requirements, and an understanding of how to write a business plan.
How you will Learn and be Assessed:
This course is completed via distance learning.
There are no live lessons to attend; you will learn independently on our online platform, but with the support of a personal tutor, so you can learn at times best for you, while still completing work within the required deadlines.
This is a 12-week course with 4 units. For each Unit, you will complete an assessment; therefore, you will have an assessment due every 3 weeks
You can access the assessment at any point leading up to your deadline. It is in the form of written question and answer format, and not timed – meaning you can complete the assessment in small chunks.
You should have a genuine interest in this subject
You will require good literacy and IT skills
You may find it useful to have already achieved a Level 1 Qualification
You will require a reliable internet connection and use of a device - A smartphone is not always compatible.

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creating a Business Start-Up, you will complete the following units:
Initial steps for a business start-up
The aim of this unit is to help students understand the initial steps of a business start-up. Learners will understand how to develop business start-up ideas, understand business ownership and work out what resources are required to develop a business start-up
Marketing for a business start-up
The aim of this unit is to help students understand the market their business start-up idea will be positioned in and how to use market research to support the business start-up. Learners will understand how to develop a successful marketing strategy.
Legal and financial considerations for a business start-up
The aim of this unit is to give students an understanding of the legal and financial factors that will affect the business start-up.
Developing a business plan
The aim of this unit is to give students an understanding of business planning and how to apply their theoretical knowledge to develop a final business plan.
