Introductory Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding Award
This Level 1 City & Guilds MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding course at South Devon College is the perfect starting point if you are new to welding, have an interest in welding as a hobby or would like to gain a professional qualification.
The course is primarily of a practical nature with a small element of theory. It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology.
You will need:
Steel toe protection boots
Leather gauntlets will be provided but you may bring your own if you wish.
Welding masks and safety goggles will be provided but you may bring your own if you wish.
Flame retardant overalls
This course may offer funding for those who are over 19, have been resident in the UK for three years, with the exception of those who live within a devolved adult education area and those currently enrolled on an apprenticeship please click here for more information.
