Education and Early Years
Want to make a difference to the lives of children and young people? The new V Level in Education and Early Years gives you the opportunity to explore education, learning and child development through a more applied approach to study.
Throughout the course, you will explore how people learn and develop across different stages of education, from early childhood through to adult learning. You will develop an understanding of pedagogical approaches, safeguarding, health and safety, positive relationships, reflective practice and the use of technology in education.
You will also develop practical, work-related skills, including planning and adapting learning sessions, evaluating assessment information, carrying out risk assessments and making evidence-based recommendations. This will help you understand how education professionals create effective, inclusive learning experiences and respond to the different needs of learners.
Equivalent in size to one A level, the V Level can be combined with other V Levels, AAQs or A levels, giving you greater flexibility when choosing your sixth form programme.
It is a great choice if you are thinking about progressing to university, an apprenticeship or further professional training in education, child development or related support services.
