Business Studies
Business shapes the world we live in, from the brands we buy to the services we use every day. Understanding how businesses work, grow, and respond to change is a powerful skill in today’s fast-paced, global economy.
A Level Business at South Devon College gives you a complete view of how organisations operate and adapt. Over two years, you’ll explore the challenges and opportunities businesses face and develop the skills to think like an entrepreneur or a business leader.
You’ll begin by learning about business opportunities and core functions, including marketing, finance, human resources and operations management. As your knowledge grows, you’ll move on to business strategy, looking at how organisations analyse data, make decisions and plan for long-term success.
Finally, you’ll examine how businesses respond to a changing world, covering topics such as globalisation, international trade, PEST factors, risk management and innovation.
Throughout the course, you’ll take part in discussions, real-world case studies and creative problem-solving tasks. You’ll be encouraged to think critically, challenge assumptions and explore different perspectives. Along the way, you’ll build valuable transferable skills like decision-making, strategic thinking, analysis and communication - skills that are highly valued in any career.
Delivered in partnership with WJEC Eduqas (correct?), the course offers a strong foundation for further study or future careers in business, management, marketing, finance or even launching your own enterprise.
