Bio

I have been employed by the college for 15 years and am currently a Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management lecturer. Within these years in education, I have been teaching in the post 16 sector and university level courses. Prior to my teaching career, I was employed as an assistant manager, specialising in reservation management for a local hotel group. I also have many years experience in front of house operations and restaurant management. I have a strong interest in customer service and event management, having spent a number of years in this field.

Research and scholarly activity

I have attended various visits to industry specific organisations, carrying out various CPD within the venues such as working with the events team at the new Salcombe beach club. I have also attended various webinars such as the European Tourism and Coronavirus: 2020 losses and potential recovery and the Travel Update from Simon Caulder 2020. I have also liaised with Torbay Development Agency – topic covered: The regeneration of Torbay as a tourist destination. 2019. I have also attended a presentation from the Chamber of Commerce about their role and the plans for Torbay.
