Marine

If you want to get on the water, or have an interest in the marine environment, then look no further than a course with us. Based on the banks of the River Dart, the South Devon College Marine Academy is the only place to consider for your training and education.

The stunning location is situated within the South Hams and is just a short drive from Torbay, which means that you will benefit from operating on a tidal river with access to the open sea. We offer a wide range of courses that will develop all the skills you require for employment, both on and off the water. You will be supported by our fully qualified staff, all of whom have years of industry as well as academic experience, to ensure you get the most out of our unique, specialist resources.

During your studies you will enjoy the complete maritime experience for your chosen career in the industry. The Academy is located within a fully operational boatyard, providing you exposure to the full range of career pathways within this diverse sector.

We are also a member of British Marine, as well as a recognised Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training Centre. Our links with highly regarded professional bodies ensure our curriculum remains responsive to regional, national and international industry trends.

South Devon College Marine Academy in Kingswear, Dartmouth, is based on the River Dart and is a maritime centre of excellence for training and education. We are an approved training centre for The Royal Yachting Association (RYA), full members of British Marine and The Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) and an accredited centre for City and Guilds, EAL Awards and the University of Plymouth.
