What is Access to Higher Education? Access to Higher education diplomas offer you, if do not have the relevant qualifications (such as A Levels), prepare to study a degree at university. South Devon College has developed a broad range of quality pathways which will enable progression into a variety of different career options.
Many universities accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas as an alternative to traditional entry qualifications, often valuing the life experience and transferable skills which adults bring to university. The majority of South Devon College students have secured their first university choice, leading to a variety of careers, including nursing, teaching, midwifery, social work, social and community work, psychologists and more. (Please make sure that you check the entry requirements for your chosen career, as many have recently changed the GCSE requirements, especially local universities).
