LAV Leisure Associated Vehicles (Re-assessment)
LAV Leisure Associated Vehicles (Re-assessment)
This re-assessment is designed for qualified gas engineers who need to renew their ACS certification for working with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) systems in Leisure Associated Vehicles (LAVs), such as caravans, motorhomes, and mobile homes. It ensures that operatives remain compliant with the latest safety standards, regulations, and best practices for LPG installations and servicing in these mobile environments. The re-assessment is a vital step in maintaining legal and safe working status within this specialised area of gas work.
Who is this for?
This course is intended for experienced gas engineers who already hold a valid LAV qualification and are approaching the end of their certification period. It is suitable for those who have previously demonstrated competence in LPG systems within leisure vehicles and now need to update their knowledge and skills to reflect current industry requirements. Candidates must also hold valid core LPG qualifications and relevant appliance certifications.
What’s involved?
The re-assessment involves both theoretical and practical evaluations, focusing on the specific requirements of LPG systems in leisure vehicles. Engineers will be tested on their understanding of system design, installation standards, appliance servicing, ventilation, flueing, and emergency procedures. The assessment ensures that operatives are fully up to date with the latest safety protocols and technical expectations. Successful completion results in renewed ACS certification, allowing continued work in this specialised and regulated field.
This is reassessment for engineers who already hold LAV scope and want to renew their qualification. The old certificate must be within 12 months of expiry to undertake this course
