Autism Awareness

Autism Awareness

The Autism Awareness Course is designed to increase understanding and provide an introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This course uses interactive learning and case studies to offer a personal approach to autism. With the growing recognition of autism in various sectors, it is crucial for educators, caregivers, and healthcare workers to understand its nuances. Autism affects millions of individuals and their families worldwide, making awareness and understanding essential.

Why Study Autism Awareness? By studying this course, you will:

  • Enhance Your Knowledge: Gain an understanding of the different aspects of autism, its symptoms, and how it impacts daily living.

  • Foster Empathy: Develop a person-centred approach that emphasizes understanding and compassion, vital for creating a supportive environment for those affected by autism.

This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring you are well-prepared to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals living with autism. Whether you are currently working in education, healthcare, or supporting individuals with autism, this course provides a comprehensive overview.

The course will be held in our University Centre building at our Paignton Campus.

If you are aged 16+ and live in or support residents in the TQ1 to TQ5 Torbay Council postcode area, then you may be eligible to have this course funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

On completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of attendance.
