You will learn in a cutting-edge practical and technical environment, gaining an introduction to Esports skills and strategies, enterprise, and entrepreneurship within the Esports industry. Alongside developing your abilities for both single-player and multiplayer team events, you’ll explore how Esports has rapidly expanded in recent years, creating hundreds of new jobs worldwide in the entertainment sector. You will also develop a broad range of transferable skills such as organising competitions, coaching players, and commentating on games (shoutcasting).
The Level 3 Diploma focuses on practical and professional skills development. You will create business plans to build teams, grow online communities, and promote your events through digital marketing. In this fast-growing sector, you will also explore important emerging topics including ethical and legislative regulations, psychology for Esports performance, and nutrition for Esports performance, and how these areas impact the Esports landscape.
In addition to the core units, you’ll have the opportunity to select optional units such as:
Producing an Esports brand
Games Design
Video Production
Psychology for Esports
This course opens doors to exciting careers within the Esports industry, as well as roles in sales, marketing, and event management. You’ll develop entrepreneurship and enterprise skills to help you launch your own start-up or secure a role within a large organisation. Upon successful completion, you can progress to higher-level qualifications, including the foundation degree in Games and Interactive Design at University Centre South Devon.

You’ll learn using the latest industry-standard software and equipment in our state-of-the-art Hi Tech & Digital Centre, designed to mirror professional environments and prepare you with the skills needed to succeed in the industry.
If you’re a keen gamer, there are also opportunities to join College-based Esports teams and events as part of social enrichment activities.
This Pearson Edexcel BTEC qualification, developed in partnership with the British Esports Association, is equivalent to A Levels.
