Applied Sports and Exercise Science

Applied Sports and Exercise Science

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science is a two-year course, equivalent to one A Level, designed to help you turn your passion for sport into real career opportunities.

You will develop a strong understanding of key areas within sport and exercise science, including anatomy, physiology, psychology, coaching and fitness training. This course combines theory with hands-on learning, so you can apply your knowledge in practical settings and build confidence in real-world situations.

Throughout the programme, you will gain valuable transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving, alongside specialist knowledge of how the body works and how to improve performance. You will also explore how to analyse performance, support training programmes and understand the science behind sport and physical activity.

This course is ideal if you enjoy being active and want to progress into higher education, apprenticeships or a career in sport, fitness or coaching. You will be supported every step of the way to achieve your goals and take your next step with confidence.
