This experimental course is designed for those who are interested in working with clay using a variety of methods and processes and have an interest in exploring this area.
The course will investigate the potential of making in clay, its inherent properties and producing artefacts that can be taken home once fired.
During the course you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of using the wheel, learning how to throw to create cylinders and functional tableware. You will also be encouraged to bring materials and research during the course that contributes to their learning and practice. Your work will be glazed and fired on site.
This course is an ideal opportunity for both students and professionals looking to increase their knowledge of materials, processes and widen their portfolio. You will be expected to collect your work after the course is complete to ensure the pieces are given time to dry out before they are kiln fired.

“I chose to study the Foundation in Art and Design course and specialised in Photography. College gives you a lot more freedom, the lessons are structured more professionally which gives you an idea of what it will be like at university. I would really recommend this course if you want to grow as a designer."Alfie Reddy
