Adult Care Diploma Level 3
If you’re currently working in adult social care or stepping into a Lead Adult Care Worker role, the Level 3 Diploma in Care at South Devon College is the recognised route to building your expertise and achieving a respected qualification in the sector.
This programme is designed for those delivering care on the frontline of adult support services. You’ll develop the skills and confidence to help adults with care needs live independently, safely, and with dignity, while also preparing for supervisory responsibilities, frontline leadership, and working with greater autonomy and accountability.
Lead Adult Care Workers often work in a variety of settings, including:
Residential or nursing homes
Domiciliary (home) care
Day centres
Clinical healthcare environments
Course content is delivered flexibly, with pre-recorded sessions taught by an industry expert. You’ll also attend a monthly Community of Practice tutorial, which brings together students to share insights and strengthen your professional development. A dedicated Trainer Facilitator/Assessor will support your journey through regular one-to-one tutorials and workplace observations, arranged around your schedule and employer needs.
After completing this course, you could progress onto higher-level qualifications or a foundation degree at University Centre South Devon, opening doors to more senior roles in care or further study in health and social care disciplines.
Funding may be available for learners aged 19+ who have lived in the UK for at least three years (exclusions apply for devolved regions or those on apprenticeships).
