11th December 2018
As part of the many continuous endeavours South Devon Marine Academy (SDMA) makes to broaden the learning opportunities for it’s students, South Devon College is pleased to announce on Friday 14th December 2018, the SDMA will sign a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with the Institut Nautique Bretagne (INB).
The new agreement will see the College’s Marine Academy strike a highly beneficial partnership with the INB, creating additional collaborative project opportunities for FdSc Yacht Operations and Marine Technologies students based at Noss-on-the-Dart to engage with overseas students.
Established in 1965, and based in beautiful Concarneau, France, the INB has delivered exceptional training within the marine industry. Created and managed by sector professionals, the training centre is intended for young people keen to further develop their skills, and train for companies to gain employee skills.
With the future agreement SDMA students will thrive from the added future opportunities to visit the INB, who due to their acclaim, enjoy a well-established network of companies and alumni; well positioned to provide employment opportunities for all students, apprentices and trainees.
Due for official signing at the upcoming Paris Boat Show (Salon Nautique Paris) on Friday 14th December – the agreement will also see the College welcome an increased number of overseas students to the Marine Academy to learn from the College’s dedicated staff, working on a variety of challenging boat crafts.
