South Devon College student Josh Barker went above and beyond to help those in need during the storms last week.
Josh and his Dad, Malcolm, drove from their home outside of Totnes to help others in the snow. They transported various nurses, midwives and patients around Torbay. They were out all day and then had to spend a further 30 minutes clearing snow so they could get home. This is in addition to Malcolm receiving daily treatment for a medical condition.
Josh is currently enrolled on the Aspire Supported Internship with the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. A spokesperson said, “Josh is a polite and courteous young man. He has already completed one of his placements with the gardening team and is currently working in our warehouse in Paignton. We’re very pleased with his progress.”
Well done to Josh and Malcolm – your efforts were very much appreciated!
