Sports Coach Higher Apprenticeship Level 4
This Level 4 higher apprenticeship standard is typically designed as an 18-month programme (this does not include end-point-assessment period) and is for apprentices interested in the sport and physical activity sector that wish to gain the skills, knowledge and behavioural competencies required to work in a high-performance, community and school environment role.
The broad purpose of the Sport Coach occupation is to use extensive technical and tactical sports knowledge and skills to design and deliver coaching programmes that engage, motivate and evolve participants’ skills and performance. There are three different options on this standard; Community Sports Coach, School Sports Coach and High Performance Sports Coach.
As you will be employed as an apprentice, 80% of your learning will take place in a work setting with an employer.

- You will be required to have achieved English at Level 2
- You will be required to have achieved Maths at Level 2
- You must have completed an appropriate vocational qualification at Level 3
