NCFE CACHE Counselling Skills Certificate (Online) Level 2
This invaluable online course aims to provide students with an introduction to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills. This qualification gives learners the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately.
While successful completion of this course does not qualify you to work as a counsellor, this qualification is great for those who are looking to start their journey to becoming a counsellor, and also for those who already work with others and would like to develop their communication skills for CPD. All knowledge learned is transferable to any role where an individual works with others e.g. in teaching, healthcare, mental health, social work etc.
How you will Learn and be Assessed:
This course is completed via distance learning.
There are no live lessons to attend; you will learn independently on our online platform but with the support of a personal tutor, so you can learn at times best for you, while still completing work within the required deadlines.
This is a 12-week course with 4 units. For each Unit, you will complete an assessment; therefore, you will have an assessment due every 3-weeks.
You can also access the assessment at any point leading up to your deadline, it is in written question and answer format, and not timed – meaning you can complete the assessment in small chunks.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, you will complete the following units:
Unit 01 Using counselling skills
In this unit, students will have an opportunity to identify a range of skills used when participating in a counselling skills interaction
Unit 02 Introduction to counselling skills theories
In this unit, students will be introduced to the key elements of the main theoretical approaches to counselling
Unit 03 Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
In this unit, students will be introduced to the concepts of diversity and ethics and their importance in the use of counselling skills
Unit 04 Counselling skills and personal development
In this unit, students will have an opportunity to reflect on their personal and future development and identify potential sources of support
