Computing Extended Diploma Level 3
This course is perfect for you if you’re interested in a career in website, mobile or desktop application development, system support, networking or cyber security. The Level 3 programme provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in an ever-changing and expanding industry. You will gain access to the latest technologies and development environments, enabling you to implement websites and software solutions whilst evolving your programming skills using languages such as C++, Python and C#. You will also have access to modern hardware systems and network environments, enabling you to implement and manage physical & virtual networks.
You’ll learn how to create solutions that include applications for the web and desktop systems. You will also learn how to design and build networks, implement security within networks and maintain computer systems.
We have industry standard computer labs and equipment, so you’ll get real experience working in the same development environments as you would in industry. This is all taught by experienced network & security experts and programmers & developers, who will show you not only the technical side of things, but the professional skills you’ll need to be a successful within your chosen industry as well. Upon completion of this two year course, you can progress onto FdSc Computing or a higher apprenticeship at University Centre South Devon or consider employment within the sector.
Course Details
- You will be required to have achieved Maths at Level 2
- You will be required to have achieved English at Level 2
- You will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, including Maths and English
- You should have a genuine interest in this subject

Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
