Computing Extended Diploma Level 3
If you’re aiming for a career in website, mobile or desktop application development, system support, networking, or cybersecurity, this Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Computing is ideal for you. This two-year programme equips you with the skills and knowledge to thrive in a fast-evolving and expanding tech industry.
You’ll work with the latest technologies and development environments, building websites and software solutions while advancing your programming skills using languages such as C++, Python, and C#. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with modern hardware systems and network environments to design, implement, and manage both physical and virtual networks.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn to create applications for web and desktop platforms, design and build networks, implement network security measures, and maintain computer systems effectively.
Our industry-standard computer labs and equipment provide a real-world environment where you’ll develop practical skills using the same tools and software found in the tech sector. Experienced network and security specialists, alongside programmers and developers, will guide you — not only in technical expertise but also in professional skills needed to succeed in your chosen field.
On completing this course, you can progress to an FdSc Computing degree or a higher apprenticeship at University Centre South Devon, or explore employment opportunities within the computing sector.

The staff at the College were so kind, supportive and helpful when I first met them. My peers had different abilities - some were already part of the fitness community, some were already personal trainers and the rest were beginners like me. It didn’t matter how new or how much experience you had. We all became a team and we all enhanced and supported each other’s experience. The Exercise to Music class gave me the confidence to understand how to support the participants, the confidence to stand in front of people, and support them all to do their best during training.
