Coaching Professional Apprenticeship Level 5
This apprenticeship is ideal for anyone who wants to develop their coaching skills within an organisational context. This might be as a dedicated coach, a team leader or manager, trainer, or teacher. The aim of a coaching professional apprenticeship is to enable coaches to work with a range of individuals and teams and across organisations, to empower and engage them to enhance their professional performance.
Coaching is a way of leading in a non-directive manner, helping people to learn through deep listening and reflective, open questions rather than instructing or giving advice. The purpose of coaching is building the self-belief of others, regardless of the context, to be curious and self-aware, better equipping them to collaborate, innovate, deal with the increasing pace of change and get the best from, increasingly diverse environments. Effective coaching is future focussed, releasing the potential of individuals and teams, enabling transformation and change for business improvement whilst also bringing about positive changes in leadership style and organisational culture.
The apprenticeship applies to all organisations and sectors; we offer two pathways:
The Professional Pathway is designed to support the development of professional coaching skills in a range of sectors, including business and professional services, finance, technology, engineering and manufacturing, retail, leisure, health, and construction. This pathway is delivered by the professional team, who are experienced in coaching, leadership and management, and provide links into all aspects of coaching within an organisational and business context.
The Education Pathway, a specialised route, is designed to support the development of academic staff. You’ll develop coaching skills to support growth and development of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a school, college or university. This pathway is delivered by the highly experienced teacher training team.
