Cathie originally worked as a Learning Support Assistant whilst completing her BA (Hons) in Working with Children and Young People before completing teaching qualifications. Whilst qualifying, she worked extensively with young people who had become disengaged with education. Later, she achieved an MEd in Professional Development with a focus on reflective practice and the use of technology in learning. Cathie now teaches across a range of programmes in the College from learning opportunities through to degree level, where she particularly enjoys supporting dissertations. Her experience as a Support Assistant means that she has good knowledge, strategies, and ideas to support students on the Teaching Assistant course.
