Supported Learning Opportunities
The Supported Learning Opportunities programme has been developed for students with learning difficulties and offers a laddered progression route to help prepare you for life after your studies or other College courses.
During their studies, students will gain a broad range of skills, in areas such as English, maths, computing, personal development and employability. Our entry level courses include work placements or realistic work simulations, designed in partnership with local employers, ensuring learners gain valuable, practical experience.
We offer small and supportive learning groups, with a comprehensive range of support programmes. Curriculum support assistants are an integral part of each class, and students benefit from discrete teaching areas in the heart of the College, as well as specialist vocational facilities. All tutor groups have a dedicated personal tutor, who is the main link between home and other staff at the College and the first point of contact regarding a students’ academic achievement and personal welfare.
Many students progress from Supported Learning Opportunities programmes onto other mainstream College courses, whilst others may move onto employability courses. With a dedicated support network, we can help students of all abilities develop personally and achieve their goals.
