Are you interested in earning whilst learning? South Devon College and the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Careers Hub invite you to talk all things apprenticeships next week when they host an interactive live streamed assembly open to all, students and adults alike, as well as other schools and colleges, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Anyone interested in enrolling on an apprenticeship programme can attend the Virtual Apprenticeship Assembly, run in collaboration with the TDA, Devon and Cornwall Training Provider Network and South West Apprentice Ambassador Network. It will be held on Wednesday 7th February at 10am.
If you are considering enrolling on an apprenticeship, taking steps towards finding an apprenticeship, or simply want to find out if this is the right path for you, then attending the event will inspire and educate you to make the right decision for your future. You will have the opportunity to ask questions during this fully-interactive event.
There will be various experts offering advice and insights on how an apprenticeship will elevate your employability skills – you will hear general information on apprenticeships from guest speakers from Devon and Cornwall Training Provider Network and South Devon College.
Ben Pountney, Head of Business Solutions and Apprenticeships at South Devon College, commented: “At South Devon College we have very strong working relationships with employers, and undertaking an apprenticeship is a great way to build skill levels and enhance career prospects.
“We look forward to hosting the Virtual Assembly to showcase how an apprenticeship is a solid route to successful employment within a variety of sectors.”
There will also be employer representatives from The Countryside Partnership, Evolution Marine, Bovey Castle, the NHS and Pennon discussing apprenticeships on construction, marine, hospitality, health and social care, and engineering respectively.
Jacqueline Hobson from the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay Careers Hub, said: “We are really looking forward to hearing from apprenticeship providers from such a broad range of industry sectors.
“It’ll be exciting to hear more about the different pathways within careers, where you can work and learn at the same time, and even work up to degree level and beyond, whilst earning.”
Current apprentice Rebecca Ridler from Synoptix will share her experiences on what to expect as an apprentice, followed by a talk from Ben Pountney, Head of Business Solutions and Apprenticeships at South Devon College, on ‘What do I do next?’
During the live Virtual Assembly, viewers will be able to ask and have their questions answered in real time, offering the opportunity to gain a real understanding of the opportunities on offer across a range of sectors.
