1st November 2023
Dear students, parents and carers,
Principalship are keeping a close watch on the Met Office weather forecast, weather warnings and advice that directly affect the Torbay and South Devon area.
As at 16.45 today (1st November 2023), Torbay and South Devon remain under an Amber warning.
Whilst Torbay and South Devon remain under an Amber warning, we anticipate it will be business as usual for the College campus. However, should this status change or further advice be received from the Met Office or other authorities, we will provide updates and guidance. Updates and advice from the Met Office can be found HERE.
To allow for any potential disruption and to promote safe travel, we would advise keeping to main routes where possible and to allow extra time for your journey. It is wise to remain aware of your surroundings at all times and if travelling in a vehicle remember to give vulnerable road users including cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians more room than usual. For those travelling on public transport around Torbay, you may find this Stagecoach Service Updates page useful, in addition to the Stagecoach App.
We would encourage you to check local news and social media channels for up to date traffic and travel advice.
Principalship and Marketing will be monitoring local schools and media closely for any disruptions, should they arise during Thursday 2nd November 2023.
Please monitor South Devon College’s social media channels for any updates, should they be required.
