Update COVID: Advice to all students 19/11/2021
Dear students, parents and carers
I last emailed you on Friday 12/11/2021 with all the current Covid information and updates. This link will take you to the Covid-19 section of the college website where you will find all the information and resources you need from the College
Please see below the current most important information.
- Covid Testing – students
- Covid Vaccinations for students aged 16 and over
- Reporting COVID-19 Cases: Latest data
1. Covid Testing – students
Students are asked to conduct home testing on a Wednesday and Sunday evening after 6pm. Tutors will ensure that students have a constant supply of home testing kits. Test kits can also be collected by students from the ‘Student Space’ in The Street.
Please note students should share their home test results with NHS Test & Trace as soon as they have undertaken their home test. Students must also share their results with the College via the Covid test results form, as soon as possible after a test so the College can monitor any localised ‘outbreaks’. The College will be reviewing who completes this form, as well as the results, and keeping Public Health England informed of the numbers of students conducting home tests. The SDC COVID results reporting form is now even quicker and easier for students to report their results.
We will continue to constantly review our approach, following the latest government guidance and will adapt what we do accordingly. Please do whatever you can to keep everyone safe.
2. Covid Vaccinations for students aged 16 and over
Working together with Torbay Council and the NHS, the College is hosting a pop up Covid Vaccination Centre at the Vantage Point campus next week. This is to give students aged 16 or over the opportunity to have their first Covid vaccination. Please note that anyone who has had a PCR confirmed case of Covid within the last 28 days will not be able to have a vaccination at this time.
This is a drop-in session with no need to book. Please be aware that at busy periods you may need to queue. Please be patient. Centre staff will be on hand to assist. Vaccinations are offered on a first come, first served basis, and will continue until either 5pm or until stock runs out, whichever occurs first.
Date: Wednesday, 24th November 2021
Time: 11.00 – 17.00
Venue: Horizons, Vantage Point, Long Road, Paignton
Eligible: Students aged 16 and above who have not had Covid in the previous 28 days
Booking: No need to book. Please allow enough time to queue or return when the Centre less busy
