South Devon College is delighted to announce that we have been awarded We Invest in Apprentices, Gold Accreditation.
The College is the first organisation to achieve the We Invest in Apprentices, Gold Accreditation award in the South West. The assessment process comprised initial discussions with our apprenticeship leadership team, administration of an online survey to our apprentices, and discussions with apprentices from different teams.
IIP found that the College demonstrates excellent practice and have great approaches for supporting apprentices.
IIP confirmed that we are committed to using apprentices as part of our workforce strategy, we support their learning, career progression and their wellbeing and we celebrate their success. IIP reported that as an organisation our approach to people is based on strong and visible leadership, shared values and a community focus, and this is the way we work with our apprentices. Apprentices feel part of the staff team, and they feel empowered. Our apprentices told IIP that colleagues and managers across the College value them and recognise what they are achieving. Collectively we enable success and achievement and our apprentices are enjoying their apprenticeship at the College and think it is of high quality.
