South Devon College are very much a hub of the community and in these times, a community effort needs to be stronger than ever. It was with great honour that the College could play a valuable part in supporting the NHS in providing some supplies as they battle on the front line against COVID-19 and deal with the existing workload of accidents and emergencies.
On Wednesday 25th March, Torbay Hospital got in touch with South Devon College and asked if we had any materials that we could offer to help support, including gloves, goggles, protective glasses, face masks, and similar items for front line NHS staff.
South Devon College staff very quickly responded to the request and, on Thursday 26th March, donated 112 goggles, 187 safety glasses, 3 visors, 4 respirators, 9 boxes of disposable face masks, and 19 boxes of disposable gloves.
The College are working really hard to do everything they can to support the NHS in what are the most demanding times it has ever faced and are challenging themselves to do even more to take some of the pressure and improve the protection of front line carers.
