Apprentices at South Devon College had the honour of being visited at their workplace, Valeport in Totnes, by a member of the Royal family, Princess Anne, to open up a new manufacturing facility.
Students, Francesca Bullimore and Oliver Benny, were on hand to show Princess Anne some elements of the processes they undertake manufacturing products, showed her around the facility, and talked about their positive experience as apprentices.
Established in 1969, Valeport designs and manufactures instrumentation for the oceanographic, hydrometric and hydrographic markets, with a worldwide customer base that includes the environmental, defence, oil & gas, renewable, construction, dredging and civil engineering sectors.
It was a great experience for Oliver and Francesca to share what they do with pride and set a great example of the College to Princess Anne, who paid great compliments to South Devon College.
