The Duke of Edinburgh programmes available through the College have been successful for a long time due to the impact it can have on not only the CV of an individual, but also the impact of having the experience on offer and what knowledge that provides.
It’s with great pride that South Devon College has now been granted Approved Activity Provider (AAP) status as a result of DofE approving a residential programme put together by the College’s DofE Award Manager, Rich Blagden, in partnership with Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and the Seal Project.
This will allow young people participating in their DofE Gold to come to Torbay to take part in important conservation and wildlife monitoring projects.
This development has come off the back of significant growth in participants across the DofE award levels. In September 2017, there were 20 students partaking in a DofE programme. Now there is 150 with there being a full group for the first time going for the Gold award.
Being granted AAP status will form stronger links with partner organisations, providing more opportunities to show how South Devon College is working with the local community.
