It’s with great delight to share that two students from level 3 Sports and Exercise Science programmes have been selected to represent the English Colleges FA national squad that runs in partnership with the Association of Colleges. Owen Price and Jj Evans have been working incredibly hard and continue to develop and improve their skill to reach this point.
Their time in the English Colleges FA National Squad will see Jj and Owen take part in matches against Wales, Australia, as well as a friendly against the Future Elite Sport team at Slough FC. They are in St George’s Park training camp for this friendly fixture as well as training for two days which the main England team use. Following this, they then have the chance to be selected to go on a tour to Italy for the Roma Caput Mundi/Casa Rose to compete in a tournament.
Trainer Facilitator and Lead Football Coach at South Devon College, Chris Todd, said:
“It’s an honour for the College to have our students selected to be part of this squad. But it’s the first time ever that we have had two selected to join. The last time we had a student selected was over three years ago. Charlie Johannsen went on to experience playing at an international competition and gained an England cap as a result. Myself and the rest of my team are proud of Owen and Jj and look forward to seeing them develop and experience more exciting opportunities off the back of this success.”
The College and Pro:Direct Academy are very proud that both Owen and Jj have made it into the squad.
It’s an incredible opportunity and we look forward to seeing what other fantastic opportunities and experiences come their way as a result of this success.
