Public Services students were surprised by the arrival of the police and ambulance service as a staged crime scene unfolded in front of them.
It was a dramatic start to the unit of study focused on crime and its effects on society. The staged crime consisted of a stabbing, a call to 999, the Police initial response, the arrival of the paramedic, and subsequent emergency medical treatment. Following this incident, the students will now explore how the crime affects those directly involved and the wider community.
As the students were completely unaware that this was going to happen, they had to use their knowledge and skills to support the situation.
The College are thankful for the strong relationship we have with the Police force and NHS who are essential in delivering real experiences such as this to our students.
