The atmosphere at the College was buzzing as students of all ages collected their GCSE and Level 2 qualification results. It was a joyful sight to see all of them united as they reached this milestone together. The qualifications achieved today will hugely support their transition into the next chapter of their learning journey.
South Devon College offers varied GCSE subjects for a wide range of students. For many, it’s an opportunity to improve on their previous school achievements in English and maths that will support their progression and future employment.
Each year GCSEs continue to bring new opportunities for adults who have returned to education with aspirations to progress into higher education or onto an access to higher education course.
Sue Brown has achieved great things this year by combining her BA (hons) Child Development and Education and earning a 2:1 at University Centre South Devon as well as gaining a grade 5 in her Biology GCSE. Sue can now fulfil her ambition of becoming a primary school teacher by progressing to study a PGCE. “The GCSE was an evening course so I was able to fit it around my work and other studies, the atmosphere in the class was amazing and the teachers were so supportive.”
