What we are planning to do
In March this year over 60 students from across Health programmes undertook a international visit to Amsterdam to gain an insight into health systems in the Netherlands and to reflect on their own practice. The visit include an eye-opening underground tour of Amsterdam, which provide and insight into the life on the streets and the support and infrastructure in place to rehabilitate individuals, and a lecture by NVVE on the euthanasia practice in the Netherlands, which led to a number of discussions and debates on the legal and ethical practices and the students where able to reflect on the theoretical knowledge gained through this years lectures.
A student reflection on Amsterdam. “It was a totally awesome experience – Inspirational, eye-opening, educational and humbling all in one hit and I have not stopped talking about it since getting back”
The clinical education team has recently taken delivery of a new Simulator Anne, which will enable Healthcare students to practice and demonstrate their clinical skills in a simulated environment. This simulator has the latest technology embedded which will allow the programme team to create multiple simulations for the students to engage with.
Our industry is growing
The NHS is consistently reviewing its workforce strategy to ensure it has skilled professionals to meet the growing and changing need to the healthcare sector in the UK. The healthcare programmes available through UCSD have been designed and are regular reviewed to ensure that graduates have the clinical skills and knowledge to enter the NHS workforce as clinical professionals.
