21st March 2019
Between the three C2C groups who took part in the Comic Relief Bake Sale, we raised just over £90!
On 15th March, students studying for their Duke of Edinburgh Award were in the Street with Venus Award Customer Service Finalist, Jade Scott, who came to talk about customer service and help sell the cakes they baked in their catering session and some red noses.
Chloe Drysdale’s (Group D) re-engagement group are also completing 3 months of voluntary work for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award in conjunction with The Students’ Union. The students also practised customer service skills on the cake stall in The Street on Friday 15th March under the guidance of Venus Award Customer Service Finalist, Jade Scott. The Duke of Edinburgh group will be participating in activities for Environmental Awareness week and Mental Health Awareness Week too!
Melissa Andrew’s group (Group E) conducted research on ideas and budgeting the learners decided to make Chocolate Marsh mellow faces to raise money for Comic Relief. All students took part in regard to their skill strengths i.e. finance, marketing, sales, production and team leader. It was very successful with students raising double the amount of money expected.
South Devon College is always proud to have students like these that see the importance in helping others. Well done for hosting such a successful fundraiser for Comic Relief.
