Here at South Devon College, we love hearing back from students about what they go on to do after their studies. Andrew Dial is a great example of a student that put his heart and soul into chasing his dreams and has now seen that dream become a reality.
Former Engineering Level 3 Student, Andrew Dial, successfully completed the Extended Diploma in Engineering with an impressive D*D*D* in 2015. He has recently been in contact with us regarding his progression to university and how his degree is going. Andrew was able to demonstrate his skills and knowledge he gained whilst studying at South Devon College to gain a placement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, and has now been selected for pilot training for the U.S. Air force.
Andrew Dial:
“I completed my Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering in Summer 2015, with grades D*D*D* and shortly thereafter moved to the United States to pursue a degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where I’m working on a degree in Aeronautics, specialising in aircraft/dispatch operations. Since being there, I joined U.S. Air Force ROTC and was recently selected to be a pilot in the Air Force once I complete my degree in May 2020. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the team and BTEC program at the South Devon College engineering centre who supported and pushed me to reach my maximum potential, and for that I am forever grateful.”
What an incredible story and journey. We are so pleased to have been a part of it. Thank you for getting back in touch with us Andrew. We wish you all the best and that you continue to deliver nothing but excellence in everything you do.
