Recently at South Devon College a group of Film and Art students were treated to the visit of acclaimed film director Ra Dreyfus who delivered a stimulating workshop, providing an insight into the film and art industries.
Based in Los Angeles, USA, Ra took time out of her busy schedule to answer questions from the College’s aspiring students, offering inspiration towards their own projects and encouragement towards tackling the obstacles many creative artists often encounter.
Having originally started as an actress, Ra’s career boasts a great variety in cutting-edge projects from writing, to directing music videos and most recently photography in fine art; with her own experiences providing the basis for the engaging student workshop.
When asked about her visit to the College, Ra says “It was a real privilege of mine to be invited to the College. I find workshops like these are a great way to help inspire the next generation of talented students and help give crucial insights into the film and art industries. During my own experiences in the business, I always think back to the support I received from the people around me early in my career. I hope my knowledge of my craft can motivate these kids to go out and create.”
