Computer Science Lecturer Nirosha Holton attended ‘Infosecurity Europe’ – the world’s number one information security event. It featured Europe’s largest and most comprehensive conference programme with over 400 exhibitors showcasing the most relevant information security solutions and products to 19,500+ information security professionals.
The three day event included cyber security workshops, a keynote speaker stage as well as various panel discussions and demonstrations of latest security tools and technologies including threats and risks to be aware of.
A guest panel consisted of talks from the Head of EU Cyber security regulatory policy (DCMS), the Deputy Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges (NATO), the Head of Programme- Cyber and National Security, techUK and various CISOs from various CNI supply chain.
Discussions centred on how to fill the skills gaps within the cyber security industry, especially to meet the new governmental and EU regulations (GDPR) requirements, how to meet mid-level Information Security Management requirements as well as how to utilise skill and further development pathways.
Nirosha is looking forward to sharing the latest updates and developments from the conference with her colleagues and students.
