A group of Catering students from South Devon College were invited to the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth to prepare and cook the evening meal at the annual ‘Grand Spring Ball’.
Over 600 naval officers and guests attended the prestigious event.
The students planned an appetizing three course meal and spent the entire day at the Naval College prepping and preparing for the event.
The experience provided a valuable insight for the students by working toward a large-scale event in a new setting.
Choices on the menu included, wood-fired smoked breast of chicken, charred vegetable tian with mozzarella, dauphinoise potato and side vegetables, plus more. Classic sherry trifle, chocolate fudge cheesecake and vanilla sweet crème brûlée, were among the dessert choices.
