South Devon College hosted the second heat of ‘The Major Series Culinary Challenge Competition’ on 2nd February.

The competition required contestants to showcase their cooking abilities while acknowledging current trends and their own innovative ideas during a number of skill challenges.

South Devon College Courses to Careers student Shania Gibbs entered the very competitive ‘Street Food’ section and was up against catering students from across the region.

Shania received a ‘Gold’ award for her food and won ‘Best in Section’ for her entry.

A spokesperson from South Devon College said: “Shania has been a real credit to the course and we can see her confidence and strengths growing each week.”
