South Devon College has been named as a leader in people management practice globally, having been ranked as a finalist in the ‘Platinum Employer of the Year (250 – 4,999 employees)’ category at the annual Investors in People Awards.
The Awards celebrate the best people management practices amongst Investors in People accredited businesses. Winners were announced at a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner at Old Billingsgate, London, on 23 November 2017.
The Awards provide the opportunity to benchmark against high performing organisations globally. This year the 12 award categories focused on the main elements of what it means to be an Investor in People, from Excellence in Leadership and Management, to Excellence in Social Responsibility to Leader of the Year and Best Newcomer. Those who ranked at this year’s ceremony represent the companies who have fully embraced the IIP mission to unlock organisational success by realising the potential of their people. They are truly outperforming and impressive companies who value employees as the core of their business.
Matthew Harbour, Vice Principal Curriculum, Quality and Performance at South Devon College said: “It is a privilege to be ranked as one of the highest performing IIP Platinum employers of the year. We are delighted to receive this extraordinary recognition which demonstrates the dedication and determination that makes South Devon College a great place to work and ensures that our excellent staff are empowered to inspire our community through learning.”
