All four members of Devon Colleges Group are in the top 8% of FE colleges in the country, according to FE Week’s NICDEX league table.
The NICDEX rated all 202 FE colleges in four categories – learner satisfaction, employer satisfaction, 16-to-18 positive progression and adults into employment – to create a score out of 40.
All of Devon Colleges’ Group members – Petroc, Exeter College, South Devon College and City College Plymouth – appeared in the top 17.
South Devon College Principal and CEO Stephen Criddle said, “We are delighted to see Devon colleges leading the way nationally and are very pleased to be recognised for our ongoing achievements. Devon Colleges Group members are all absolutely committed to delivering excellent teaching and learning experiences and outcomes for all of our students. It is great to see South Devon College’s staffs’ hard work recognised in learner and employer feedback as well as student progress and destination indices.”
Now in its second year, the NICDEX was devised by FE Weeks’s editor and a former director of performance at Lewisham College, based on key criteria published by the Department for Education.
Devon Colleges Group was launched in 2016 and sees the county’s four principal colleges working together to raise the education and skills aspirations of residents and employers, and supporting individuals to achieve and success.
